LPN Coming Up
Hello everyone! Welcome back to this week’s LPN Coming Up! We’ll be sharing with you key events happening this week (6th June — 10th June):
This workshop provides an introduction to some practical suggestions about how to manage anxiety, and will include some simple relaxation techniques to help you practise staying calm.
Talk to a member of the Careers Information and Advice Team for answers to your careers questions. This could include advice on how to get started with career research or help on using your CareerConnect account.
This workshop will focus on how to reference sources in your writing. Including ways of incorporating others’ work into your writing and discussing the balance between your own voice and others’ in academic writing!
Have you been reading an exciting book and you’d like to share it with other bookworms? This casual book club gives you a chance to tell others about the book you are reading and get inspiration for what to read next.
Come along to this workshop to understand the causes of procrastination and look at practical ways to overcome it.
The online Library drop-in gives you the opportunity to speak to a friendly member of the Library and Student Team to get support and guidance on using the Library’s resources or services. During the assessment period, guidance will be provided on revision strategies to get you through your assessments.
This workshop will build understanding about job applications for students with disabilities, enable you to confidently position your mitigating circumstances and much more!
Look out for our weekly tips published every Thursday on our Medium blog!
This session, run by the Counselling and Mental Health Service, uses guided relaxation to help start your day with a sense of calm and acceptance to enable you to face challenges more easily.
Join this workshop to develop a basic understanding of the interplay between thoughts, feelings and behaviour, as well as how to recognise some unhelpful thinking patterns, leading to emotions and actions that are not in our best interest.
And on Friday:
As part of Carers Week, anyone who provides care for others is invited to a special day of TLC and resources just for them. Come along for events including gardening, mindfulness and a massage!
This 30 minute information session will explain what dyslexia (and other specific learning difficulties) are and how to access support.
That concludes this week’s LPN Coming up! We hope you get involved in the events taking place and make the most of them. Remember to check the LPN Channels regularly for the most up-to-date event information!
